In India Sex Education is seen in more religious and conservative perspective rather than scientific and modern perspective ……..

India is a country of almost every religion in the world. It is a country of spiritual leaders and a country of world’s oldest known civilization. It is a country of veda, Geeta, Quran, and Bible. Religion is good if a person wants to spent a well laid path, but fanatism sometimes take so acute shape that we resist changes and conservative ideology dominates upon us. Excess fanatism of religion and conservative thoughts make Indians ignorance of basic scientific facts, at this juncture we creat a huge gap of ideology between modern and conservative. These conservative thought has had been the cause of many social evils from the time of yore, earlier ‘performance of Sati’ was the product of fanatic ideology. Even today Child marriage is big concern for Indian government, and many social evils are also taking shape in Indian society , ‘’Honor killing’’ in recent times is also the cause of orthodox thinking of Indian people.
Majority of Indian lack modern thinking, due to inadequate awareness and dominance of conservative ideology. Sex education in India is always seen as a subject which is inapt for Indian society but this conclusion drawn by Indians is totally based on religious and conservative perspective. When we see the same subject in perspective of science then it is mandatory to provide Sex education, especially to the juvenils and to children who are going to attained puberty. In India Sex education is considered as taboo, according to religious dogma there is a prescribed age limit and that limit is –marriage, if any one below this know about the sex and sex related complications, before this if anyone is parting their knowledge or anyone is conceiving the same knowledge then they are insurgent of society, trespassing and are responsible for their transgressions. But when we resist the changes which are inevitable , we allow our conservative thoughts to dominate upon us , and at this juncture we begin to access the things only on the basis of religion and social norms and we neglect the scientific aspects of that thing. Sex education scientifically is beneficial for children and juvenils but religious doctrines consider it as socially inapt.
If the child knows everything about sex then it will make the child aware, at least they will be cognizant of the bad consequences of lack of knowledge based on sex. They can adopt healthy life style and can make the society aware of STDs (Sexually transmitted diseases), which are until incurable, in such conditions we left with no option where only authenticated knowledge can save the lives, here sex Education can play a splendid role in making the society free of STDs (Sexually transmitted diseases), in this context only knowledge about sex can help. But it is very unfortunate that we Indians neglect its scientific aspects and connect it with religious and conservative ideology. Sometimes lack of Sex education proves more disasterous for children, religious doctrines and conservative ideology’s restriction provide more incentive and can provoke them to know more about it and for this they can adopt unacceptable means which could lead to the deteriorated health problems of children. Its Human tendency that , more boundation on human provoke them to infringe the norms, it is more pragmatic when rules are against bad things. In this era of technology, especially the revolution of Visual media , mobile phones, computers, laptops and burgeoning use of mobile phones among children is an alarming signal that juvenils and youths can seek inappropriate knowledge about sex which knowledge could prove destructive one, which is very different from the prescribed authenticated knowledge about sex
which is constructive one. The paradox is on the one hand conservative ideology and religious doctrines imposing physical restrictions and boundations on children, at the same time on the other hand technological advancement is making children more liberal by their thinking and making them mentally autonomous, when both the situation clash they give birth to new complications which can devastate the children both by physically and mentally. Now, Constructive education of sex can stop the children from all malpractices and can rescue them from their devastating life. Scientific perspective of providing sex education will eradicate many existing social problems. AIDS is not originated in India but it is spreading in Indian subcontinent rapidly and the recent study reveals that more persons are prone to AIDS due to non-safe Sex rules. The only way to make people aware of the facts and truths is by augmenting Scientific temper in them, for this Indian people must change the status quo mindset. We must be hipster, our thoughts should be dynamic with the changing scenario . We can’t expect better solutions with old and conservative ideas, because we are in 21st century and we have 21st century challenges as well, so, it is mandatory to enforce scientific ideology among the Indian Nationals.
It is the need of the hour to see the problems and search for its solutions on scientific perspective. Sex education, making people cognizant of ‘’what to do and what not to do’’, Diseases which are related to sex, should always be consider on scientific perspective. We are living in the age where we are totally besieged by the science, then how we can expect that dogma, fanatism and conservative thoughts can help us to combat with problems. It is the time to come above all social norms and conservative thoughts which are irrelevant on the scientific basis , because religion is to construct the society and not to destruct the society. Only through this we can establish a healthy and aware society.
